HydroScribe is a SaaS platform designed for hydroelectric power plant operators that uses generative AI to transform decades of siloed documents and data into an interactive, searchable knowledge base. It automates the tedious process of compliance reporting and preserves institutional knowledge.

The Problem

Hydroelectric plants have 50+ years of critical operational knowledge locked away in unstructured formats like PDF inspection reports, scanned maintenance logs, and environmental studies. New operators cannot easily learn from past incidents, and managers spend hundreds of hours manually compiling data for mandatory regulatory reports.

Our Solution & AI Integration

HydroScribe uses a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) AI model. Operators securely upload their entire library of documents (PDFs, Word docs, spreadsheets). Our system indexes this content and connects to operational databases. This enables two core features:

• Ask Your Dam: An intuitive, chat-based interface where operators can ask plain-English questions like, "What were the maintenance interventions on Turbine 3 related to bearing vibration in the last 15 years?" or "Find all environmental reports referencing fish migration patterns near the spillway." The AI provides direct answers with citations from the source documents.
• Auto-Reporter: Users select a regulatory report template (e.g., Annual Safety Inspection Summary). The AI scans the knowledge base for the required data points and automatically generates a complete, referenced draft of the report in minutes, not days.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

The first product will be a secure, web-based document uploader and the "Ask Your Dam" search/chat interface. The initial focus will be on indexing and querying PDF and text-based documents, solving the immediate "dark data" problem. The first version of the Auto-Reporter will handle one specific, high-frequency compliance report.

Concept

Specter is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) copilot for on-call teams. It integrates with existing Application Performance Management (APM) and alerting tools (like Datadog, Prometheus, etc.). The moment an alert is triggered, Specter instantly awakens, gathers all relevant logs, metrics, and traces related to the incident, and performs an automated root cause analysis. Within seconds, it posts a concise, human-readable summary to Slack, including a primary hypothesis, supporting evidence, and suggested next steps.

Value Proposition

For engineering teams, Specter drastically reduces Mean Time To Resolution (MTTR) by eliminating the manual, time-consuming, and stressful initial investigation phase of an incident. It transforms data overload and alert fatigue into clear, actionable insights, empowering any developer on call—not just senior SREs—to resolve production issues quickly and confidently.

AI Integration

Specter's core is a reasoning engine powered by a Large Language Model (LLM). It is specifically trained and prompted to:

• Correlate time-series metric anomalies (e.g., a latency spike) with structured trace data (e.g., a slow database query in a specific service) and unstructured log data (e.g., error messages).
• Synthesize these disparate data points into a causal chain.
• Generate a clear, plain-English report that explains the likely root cause, citing the raw data as evidence.
