AI Integration

Foundry AI is built on a core Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architecture:

• We use state-of-the-art embedding models to index the incubator's private knowledge base and store it in a vector database.
• When a founder asks a question, we perform a semantic search to find the most relevant chunks of information from their specific incubator's knowledge.

SynapseAI is a SAAS platform that acts as a proactive, AI-powered research agent for biopharma scientists. Instead of researchers manually searching for information, they define their "research interests" (e.g., specific genes, proteins, diseases, or pathways) in SynapseAI. The platform's AI agents then continuously monitor the global firehose of new scientific literature (PubMed, bioRxiv, etc.). When an agent discovers a novel and meaningful connection between the user's defined interests, it automatically generates a concise "Hypothesis Brief" and alerts the user. This brief summarizes the new finding, cites the source evidence, and contextualizes the potential scientific implication, effectively turning information overload into a pipeline of actionable discovery opportunities.

MVP (Minimum Viable Product)

The first product will be a simple web application with a clear, fast interface, achievable by a small team.

• User creates an account and sets up a "Monitor."
• A Monitor consists of at least two entities, for example: Entity A (Gene: 'PCSK9') and Entity B (Disease: 'Alzheimer's Disease').
• A daily automated script scans new abstracts on PubMed for papers that contain both keywords.
• If a match is found, the abstract is sent to a fine-tuned LLM via an API.
• The LLM generates a 200-word "Hypothesis Brief" following a strict template:
  • Summary of Connection: A concise summary of the finding.
  • Source: Direct link to the PubMed article.
  • Key Evidence: Pulls the most relevant sentence(s) from the abstract.
• This brief is delivered to the user via email and is available on their dashboard.
